Luka Rocco Magnotta Canadian taxpayers are on the hook for $375,000 or more to extradite Luka Rocco Magnotta from Germany where he was caught after a manhunt. The bulk of the cost comes in the price of the dedicated Canadian military CC-150 Polaris Airbus transport plane which brought him and his escort back to Canada – a flight that cost $15,505 per hour of operation. The remaining costs come from catering services and a hotel stay for authorities.

Luka Rocco Magnotta plead not guilty to all charges brought against him for the murder of Jun Lin. Magnotta still has his preliminary hearing scheduled for March 2013.

Magnotta on top of facing first degree murder charges, is accused of defiling Lin’s corpse, harassing Canadian PM Stephen Harper, Members of Parliament, and publishing and mailing obscene material.
